International Standards Activities in Asia
As part of its Global Mission, NEMA has undertaken a number of activities in the Asia Pacific Region to facilitate members’ efforts to gain market access in the region.
NEMA participated in the Third APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Conference on Standards and Conformance to present the viewpoints of NEMA members on product testing and certification. Additional information is available at www.apec2000.gov.bn.
NEMA also collaborated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology to organize and conduct two workshops on Electrical Safety Systems of Asia Pacific. One workshop brought together experts from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, and the United States to discuss electrical installation codes, product Standards, conformity assessment, and inspection.
