The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published ANSI/NEMA IM 60000-2021 Industrial Laminated Thermosetting Products. This new edition covers the manufacture, testing, and performance of laminated thermosetting products in the form of sheets, rods, and tubes. It also includes a new format that consolidates the requirements for the physical and electrical properties of the individual NEMA Grades. With this new format, all of the information on individual material will be found in one place. IM 60000 was previously designated as NEMA LI 1-1998 (R2011).
“IM 60000 carries the tradition of adding new material grades to reflect current and future needs of the industry. It also includes SI units (International System) for international audiences and facilitates the comparison to other international standards,” said Solomon Chiang, Director of Corporate Research and Development at the Gund Company/Chair of the Industrial Laminates ANSI Standard Committee. “In the future, it will facilitate standard harmonization to promote global commerce and trade,” he said.
This standard was written for testing labs and manufacturers.
As the secretariat of the Committee on Industrial Laminating Thermosetting Products, NEMA is currently seeking new Members in the User and Testing Laboratory categories with a direct and material interest in the activities of NEMA IM 60000. Anyone who meets the membership criteria is invited to apply. All questions and inquiries should be directed to the NEMA IM 60000 Secretary at the following email: Khaled.Masri@NEMA.org.
ANSI/NEMA IM 60000-2021 is available on the NEMA website for $421.
