Arlington, Va.— The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is pleased to announce that Patrick Hughes, Senior Vice President of Technical Affairs, has been awarded the Howard Coonley Medal by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This distinguished award honors an executive who has rendered great service to the national economy through voluntary standardization and given outstanding support to standardization as a management tool.

Throughout his career, Hughes has demonstrated a profound commitment to enhancing the efficiency, sustainability, safety, and reliability of electrical systems. His work has been instrumental in driving forward initiatives that modernize grid infrastructure, promote high-performance buildings, electrify transportation, and accelerate the transition to a clean energy future. Under his leadership, NEMA has established itself as the leading authority in electroindustry technology and standards, actively collaborating with the broader standards community.
