The recent death of Paul B. Kirschner, President of Virginia Insulated Products (VIP) of Saltville, Virginia, is a loss to the NEMA Magnet Wire community.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Kirschner was the definition of a self-made man. He took over the business his father Andrew started in 1974 and, according to the VIP staff, modernized the company with new products and technologies. He was a member of the Magnet Wire Section and the Magnet Wire Section Technical Committee.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Shumate Kirschner; daughter, Lindsay Kirschner; and an extended family that includes a sister, stepchildren, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
As a generous supporter of local arts and charities, Mr. Kirschner was highly respected in his community. He enjoyed golfing, travel, and adventure, and found joy in the beauty and blessings around him.
