A new edition is now available of ANSI/NEMA IM 60000-2021 Industrial Laminated Thermosetting Products. It covers the manufacture, testing, and performance of laminated thermosetting products in the form of sheets, rods, and tubes.

This standard also includes a new format that consolidates the requirements for the physical and electrical properties of the individual NEMA Grades. With this new format, all of the information on individual material will be found in one place. IM 60000 was previously designated as NEMA LI 1-1998 (R2011).

“IM 60000 now includes SI units (International System) for international audiences and facilitates the comparison to other international standards,” said Solomon Chiang, Director of Corporate Research and Development at The Gund Company, Inc./Chair of the Industrial Laminates ANSI Standard Committee. “This standard provides a guideline for design engineers to select insulation materials that meet end-product applications and long-term performance requirements and provides a reference point of expected material performance between the buyer and the seller. In the future, it will facilitate standard harmonization to promote global commerce and trade.”

This standard was written for testing labs and manufacturers.   

ANSI/NEMA IM 60000-2021 is available on the NEMA website for $421.
