By Steve Griffith, Senior Industry Director, Transportation Systems and Cybersecurity, NEMA
The future of transportation is increasingly connected, electric, shared, integrated, seamless, and ultimately autonomous. While rapid advances in transportation technologies are already occurring, we will never achieve the full potential of this future without investing today in smart, connected, and electrified infrastructure.
NEMA is the current technology and infrastructure bridge between the public and private sectors that can move with this rapidly changing environment to help the industry fully realize the benefits of transportation’s future. We have already started working on this by developing the NEMA standard for Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communication and electric vehicle (EV) ready language for building energy codes.
The association will host an in-person Transportation 2030 industry workshop on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Attendees will review existing technical, policy/regulatory, and educational aspects of this transportation future. It will lead to a “call to action” for NEMA and its member companies to work together to accelerate the successful deployment of connected and electrified transportation. Please contact Steve Griffith, Senior Industry Director, NEMA’s Transportation Systems, for more details on how to participate.
