Fuse

A fuse is an overcurrent protection device containing a calibrated current-carrying element that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby opening a circuit and stopping the flow of electricity.

Products include non-renewable plug fuses, non-renewable cartridge fuses (not exceeding 1,000 volts AC or 1,200 volts DC), renewable cartridge fuses and renewal links or elements (600 volts or less), fuse holders, and fuse blocks.

NEMA Members serve as the industry voice for positively affecting product safety and performance requirements related to fuses.
