Fuse
A fuse is an overcurrent protection device
containing a calibrated current-carrying element that melts when too
much current flows through it, thereby opening a circuit and stopping
the flow of electricity.
Products include non-renewable plug
fuses, non-renewable cartridge fuses (not exceeding 1,000 volts AC or
1,200 volts DC), renewable cartridge fuses and renewal links or elements
(600 volts or less), fuse holders, and fuse blocks.
