Cable Ties and Positioning Devices
A cable tie organizes electrical cables and wires by
binding them together. They are made of metallic, nonmetallic, and
composite materials. Related products include the tools used to install
them and associated fixing devices.
Cable ties are classified as
Type 1, 11, 2, 2S, 21, or 21S, if they conform to the scope of cable
management systems as defined by the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and CSA in Standard
62275. Additional markings identify other applicable performance
classifications and ranges.
NEMA members promote high value,
consistent quality, and safe, dependable applications for cable ties,
their associated fixing devices, and related wire management products.
