The largest, most common workforce development issue is recruitment and getting students interested in the electroindustry. NEMA has created two resources to recruit and train the future workforce while helping our Members promote the industry as
vibrant and dynamic.
Industry Promotion Digital Toolkit
NEMA partnered with Edge Factor to create the Industry Promotion Digital Toolkit, which provides videos and other interactive digital activities for middle and high school students to create
or re-shape their view of electromanufacturing. NEMA Members can present these exciting materials to their future workforce and track views through a Netflix-style streaming platform.

Industrial Maintenance Technician Youth Apprenticeship
NEMA worked with Tooling U-SME to develop this program for high school juniors and seniors – complete with classroom instruction and on-the-job training
components – which Members can adopt and adapt to meet their local needs. Participating students will acquire knowledge, skills, and experience in five areas associated with industrial maintenance: safety, electrical knowledge,
production equipment, mechanical repair, and manufacturing aptitude. The program is scalable so that Member companies with varying levels of resources will be able to implement the program.
