Disposal Ban
Labeling
- Required for all mercury products and packaging; including both component and products containing component. Thermometers and button cells are exempt from product labeling.
Product Ban
- All products with greater than 1 gram of Hg as of July 1, 2008; greater than 100 mg as of July 1, 2010; and greater than 10 mg as of July 1, 2012. Exempts fluorescent lamps, although on or after July 1, 2014, the mercury content of fluorescent bulbs must either not exceed 10 milligrams or manufacturer must apply for an exemption. Mercury containing novelties banned except those with button battery.

Manufacturer Collection/Recycle
- Required for products containing greater than 10 mg of Hg, although manufacturers can apply for exemption.
