The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has reactivated and published ANSI/NEMA C50.41 American National Standard Polyphase Induction Motors for Power Generating Stations.
Reactivated with ANSI approval, ANSI/NEMA C50.41-2012 applies requirements to polyphase induction motors intended for use in power generating stations including:
- frame size larger than NEMA 440 series
- squirrel-cage type
- single speed or multispeed
- horizontal or vertical construction
- form wound
