The Connected World Conference, the only event dedicated exclusively to M2M and connected devices, brings together technology-driven professionals, tech-minded consumers, and upwardly mobile entrepreneurs around the idea of either creating or consuming the latest emerging devices and technologies.
"NEMA’s Smart Grid, energy efficiency, and high performance buildings efforts demand interoperability, which takes place at the machine to machine (M2M) level.” said Paul Molitor, NEMA’s head of communications. “This is also where the most important elements of cybersecurity will be applied in our member company products."
Growing in attendance each year, the Connected World Conference presents a stage for the biggest thinkers in the space to deliver need-to-know information on devices and apps. Running June 10-13, 2013 highlights include the “Day of Keynotes” kicking off the sessions on June 11 with speakers from UPS, Progressive, HP, PepsiCo, Santa Clara University, as well as a panel discussion from CIOs.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will also be speaking on Tuesday on the way in which government data and voluntarily-contributed corporate data can feed new products, services, and jobs. The goal is to stimulate a rising tide of private-sector entrepreneurship that leverages data to create tools that help Americans find the right healthcare provider, identify the college that provides the best value, save money on their energy bills, keep their families safe by knowing which products have been recalled, and much more.
On June 12 the, the conference will host panel discussions around healthcare, automotive, and home devices, among others. The day begins with the annual carrier panel where M2M heads for all the major carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint, debate the future of connectivity and the state of the industry.
Beyond the great content, the conference will feature a world-class show floor, with some of the latest in technologies and gadgets. Attendees can step inside connected cars from RAM, Ford, Audi, Cadillac, and others, or perhaps be one of the lucky few to walk away with a product from Garmin, TomTom, Magellan, NETGEAR, Motorola, and many more during our Gadget Giveaway on June 10.
The final highlight features the next-generation M2M App Challenge, June 7-9. Supported by DOE, it encourages attendees to submit next-generation apps with a chance to win cash prizes and get their story told on the pages of Connected World magazine.
